The Arctic Circle

Napapiiri Café is located on the northern Arctic Circle, and we are an official Arctic Circle visitor location. The Arctic Circle sign in our yard is a popular spot for photos and selfies.

By air or train

The nearest airport is in Kuusamo, 71 km away. Kuusamo has scheduled flights from Helsinki throughout the year. The nearest railway station is in Kemijärvi, 75 km away. Kemijärvi has a regular daily night train connection from Helsinki.

By car

Napapiiri Café is located along Road 950 towards Salla. The distance to Salla village centre is around 40 km, to Ruka around 50 km, and the drive takes about 40 minutes. The drive to Kuusamo Airport takes about one hour.

By bus and taxi

The Karhunkierros Express shuttle operates with advance booking from Kuusamo Airport via Ruka, Käylä and Hautajärvi to Sallatunturi. Check schedules and book tickets via Matkahuolto.

Parking

Parking for 20 cars and snowmobiles is available in front of the café. Free for day visitors and overnight guests. Long-term parking €10/day.
