Self-guided trout fishing at the Arctic Circle

Prefer a flexible adventure at your own pace? Self-guided fishing at the Arctic Circle is easy and rewarding!

Pick up your fishing license at Napapiiri Café (Hautajärventie 414, 98995 Hautajärvi), where you’ll also get tips and directions. Then drive a short distance to the picturesque wilderness pond, freshly stocked this spring. Enjoy peaceful fishing in nature – and if you like, you can have your catch smoked and served at our restaurant.

Services:

•  Fishing license (2 h, 1 fish): €30
• Smoking service: €20 (all catch included in same session)
• Restaurant service (meal): €20 / person

Note: Self-guided guests must also pay the national fisheries management fee (€6/day or €47 /year) before fishing via Eräluvat.fi website (external link).

A catch is likely but not guaranteed. Our restaurant always has fish ready to be smoked.
Restaurant services are available during Napapiiri Café’s opening hours: 9:00–16:00 daily.
